The latest FIFA men’s world ranking, published on Thursday, saw Nigeria’s Super Eagles drop eight places from 36th to 44th. This significant drop has also seen the Eagles fall from 4th to 5th in Africa.

Along with their global ranking drop, the Super Eagles have also lost their position as the fourth-ranked team in Africa.

They now sit fifth behind Morocco, who have overtaken them, and Senegal, who remain in second. Morocco is ranked 14th in the world, while Senegal holds 19th place.
