Lookman, who placed 14th in the recent Ballon d’Or rankings, discussed the team’s objectives in an interview with 54footballx, underscoring the squad’s dedication to achieving their ambitious targets.

Reflecting on his experience with head coach Jose Peseiro, Lookman expressed confidence in the Super Eagles’ direction, particularly in AFCON qualifiers, where they have shown strong performances.

“I’ve known the coach for a while—he gave me my first call-up for Nigeria. We’ve displayed good form in AFCON qualifiers, but it’s crucial to maintain consistency,” Lookman said.

He added that, with two wins and a draw, the team is set to sustain this momentum as they aim for victory in upcoming games.

As Lookman pointed out, consistent efforts and focus will be essential for the Super Eagles to achieve their dual objectives: qualification for both the 2025 AFCON and the 2026 World Cup.
