Speaking to Brila FM, the ex-international expressed frustration over the perceived lack of effort from players during national duty.
He lamented that their performances for Nigeria do not match their club-level displays, questioning why some seem to “select games” to give their best effort.
“We expected so much from these guys based on their performances with their clubs, but when they come to Nigeria, they do what they cannot in their teams. It’s a very big concern. They must be competitive,” Obafemi remarked.
The criticism comes amid growing concerns over the team’s consistency and attitude in crucial matches as Nigeria aims to secure a spot in the upcoming AFCON tournament.
