The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced this during its Executive Committee (EXCO) meeting held on Monday, December 16, 2024, in Marrakech, Morocco.

CAF President Patrice Motsepe chaired the meeting and began by congratulating Morocco on its successful joint bid with Portugal and Spain to host the FIFA World Cup 2030.

During the session, the committee finalized updates to CAF’s competitions calendar for 2025 and beyond.

Motsepe revealed that the AFCON 2025 Final Draw would take place in Rabat, Morocco, providing clarity to teams, including Nigeria, on their group-stage matches.

In other developments, the EXCO announced Morocco as the host nation for the U-17 AFCON tournaments in both 2025 and 2026, emphasizing its commitment to developing youth football.

Meanwhile, the 2025 U-20 AFCON will be hosted by Côte d’Ivoire.
