The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is gearing up to appoint a permanent head coach for the Super Eagles ahead of the resumption of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Since June 2024, the team has been without a substantive head coach, with Augustine Eguavoen temporarily managing the squad.
Former NFF president Amaju Pinnick revealed during an interview on Channels Television’s Sports Tonight that efforts are in full swing to secure an enterprising foreign coach.
“Any moment now, I believe the announcement of a capable coach will be made,” Pinnick shared confidently.
The Super Eagles currently sit fifth in Group C of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers, struggling to find form with no wins in their first four matches. To keep their World Cup dreams alive, they must triumph in all remaining games—a daunting but not impossible challenge.
