After falling short in the AFCON 2024 final against hosts Côte d’Ivoire, Nigeria’s Super Eagles are already setting their sights on redemption.
Leon Balogun insists that the three-time champions can reclaim continental glory but must enter the tournament with determination and self-belief.

“The AFCON is a tournament where every team comes with ambition,” Balogun told Flashscore.com. “If Nigeria wants to be champions, they have a point to prove after the last AFCON.”
He emphasized the need for a solid strategy, not just for AFCON but also for World Cup qualifiers, where Nigeria faces a tough challenge.
“We’re in a precarious situation and can’t afford to drop points. Maximum concentration and top performance are required,” he added.
With AFCON 2025 on the horizon, the Super Eagles must channel their disappointment into a winning mentality.
