Former president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has shared his confidence in the Super Eagles’ ability to secure a spot at the 2026 World Cup.
Currently, the Super Eagles sit in a challenging position—fifth in Group C with just three points from four matches. They trail Rwanda and South Africa, the group leaders, by four points.
During an appearance on Channels Television’s Sports Tonight on Friday, Pinnick revealed that the NFF is fully committed to turning the tide and helping the team qualify.
“I’m in constant communication with the NFF president, and I can assure you he is deeply focused on this goal,” Pinnick stated. “It won’t be easy, but we are prepared to give it everything. On a scale of 1 to 10, we’ll push to reach 10 and hope for divine intervention.”
He acknowledged the difficulty of the task, urging Nigerians to remain hopeful. “The players don’t want to be where they are now. They’re motivated to improve, succeed, and bring joy to Nigerians.
“So, let’s stay positive and support the team as they strive to achieve this goal,” Pinnick concluded.
