Three Nigerians in Contention for CAF Coach of the Year 2024 – Meet the Contenders

Three Nigerian coaches, Chris Danjuma, Bankole Olowookere, and Moses Aduku, have earned spots on the shortlist for the prestigious 2024 CAF Men’s Coach of the Year Award, according to reports from Softfootball.com.

The trio’s nominations highlight their significant achievements on both domestic and international stages, showcasing the growing influence of Nigerian coaching talent in African football.

Chris Danjuma earned his nomination after guiding the Falconets to the Round of 16 at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. Under his leadership, the Nigerian team displayed resilience before bowing out to Asian giants Japan.

Bankole Olowookere managed the Flamingos at the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, where the team reached the quarter-finals.

Despite their elimination by the United States, the Flamingos’ campaign showcased tactical discipline and emerging talent under his watch.

Moses Aduku’s nomination comes after an exceptional year with Edo Queens. Aduku led the team to victory in the Nigeria Women’s Football League and further cemented their dominance by clinching the top spot at the WAFU B Women’s Championship in Abidjan.
