Tottenham Hotspur have ramped up their pursuit of Bayern Munich winger Mathys Tel, aiming to secure his signature ahead of Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United.

The 19-year-old has grown frustrated with his limited game time and has informed Bayern of his desire to leave before the January transfer window closes.

Despite earning a rare start in Bayern’s 3-1 Champions League win over Slovan Bratislava, Tel has struggled for consistent minutes this season.

While multiple Premier League clubs are monitoring the situation, Spurs have taken decisive action. According to L’Équipe, Tottenham’s technical director, Johan Lange, traveled to Germany to hold direct talks with Bayern and persuade Tel to join Ange Postecoglou’s squad.

Sources suggest the winger is hesitant about Chelsea due to the intense competition for starting roles under Enzo Maresca.

Bayern’s sporting director, Max Eberl, confirmed that Tel has reconsidered his future at the club. Initially determined to fight for his place, the teenager has now expressed a willingness to explore a move.

Eberl acknowledged the difficulty of making a late-window decision but admitted that Bayern must evaluate all options, including a loan or permanent transfer.

Bayern captain Manuel Neuer also weighed in, stressing the importance of game time for young players and hinting that a transfer could be the best path forward for Tel.

With the window closing soon, Tottenham are pushing hard to finalize a deal, but they face stiff competition in the battle for the talented Frenchman.
