Amorim, officially starting at Old Trafford on November 11th, could benefit from the return of key players who have been sidelined.

Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, and Leny Yoro are all working towards full fitness, which could significantly strengthen the squad options for Amorim’s opening match.

Shaw, who has been out since August with a calf injury, has resumed individual training and is expected to rejoin team sessions soon. Malacia, absent since April 2022, has recently resumed first-team training, targeting availability for the Ipswich clash.

Meanwhile, young defender Leny Yoro, recovering from a preseason foot fracture, has been progressing well, training on the grass individually, and hopes to fully join training next week. Additionally, Christian Eriksen’s injury is reportedly less severe, raising hopes for his return to the squad for Thursday’s Europa League fixture against PAOK.

Amorim’s tenure comes at a crucial time as Manchester United battles injuries among first-team regulars. With Shaw, Malacia, and Yoro close to regaining fitness, the team could be bolstered in time for Amorim’s much-anticipated debut on the touchline.
