Tyrell Malacia is poised to become the next Manchester United player to leave on loan this transfer window, with a move to PSV Eindhoven nearly finalized.
After rumors linking him to Benfica, the Dutch left-back is heading home on a six-month loan deal, according to Sky Sports. The deal doesn’t include a buy option for the summer, meaning Malacia will return to the Eredivisie for the first time since 2022.
Signed from Feyenoord for £13m, Malacia’s time at Old Trafford has been marred by injury, especially his absence through the entire 2023/24 season due to a knee problem.
His contract with United runs until 2026 with an option for one more year, and his future will largely depend on how he performs during his loan spell at PSV.
The club, currently leading the Eredivisie, is also preparing for their Champions League knockout stage tie against Juventus.
PSV is not the only club making moves this winter, as Marcus Rashford and Antony have also left on loan. Rashford heads to Aston Villa, while Antony has joined Real Betis, where he impressed on his debut.
Manchester United isn’t expected to make any more signings on transfer deadline day, with the only major incoming player being left wing-back Patrick Dorgu from Lecce.
Despite the departures of Rashford and Antony, a new forward seems unlikely, as interest in Mathys Tel and Christopher Nkunku has cooled.
