Samuel Chukwueze remained an unused substitute in AC Milan’s 3-1 Champions League victory over defending champions Real Madrid at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday night.

Despite his impressive recent form, Milan manager Paulo Fonseca opted not to bring Chukwueze onto the pitch. Key goals from Malick Thiaw, Alvaro Morata, and Tijjani Reijnders sealed a memorable win for the Italian side.

Real Madrid’s only response came from Vinicius Junior, who scored their lone goal.

Elsewhere at Anfield, Nigerian striker Victor Boniface started for Bayer Leverkusen but could not prevent their 4-0 defeat to Liverpool.

Boniface exited the match eight minutes before the final whistle, replaced by Patrick Schick.

His compatriot Nathan Tella also saw action, entering the game in the 81st minute in place of Alex Grimaldo. The result was a tough blow for the German side, which struggled to contain Liverpool’s dynamic offense.
