Uganda’s national team captain, Khalid Aucho, has expressed confidence ahead of their campaign at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, assuring fans that the Cranes are prepared for the tough battles ahead.
Placed in Group C alongside three-time champions Nigeria, North African giants Tunisia, and regional rivals Tanzania, Uganda faces an uphill task.
Many analysts have tipped Nigeria and Tunisia as the favorites to advance, but Aucho insists his team is ready to compete at the highest level.
“Qualifying for AFCON proves that we have what it takes to stand against any team. I trust my teammates, and we are determined to give our best. Our goal is to make our supporters proud,” Aucho told fufa.co.ug.
Under the guidance of head coach Paul Put, Uganda will kick off their tournament against Tunisia’s Carthage Eagles on December 23. Their final and potentially decisive group-stage match will be against Nigeria on December 30.
