Ruben Amorim faces a tough decision at Manchester United as club legend Dwight Yorke calls for the departure of Harry Maguire to make way for emerging talent.

Yorke insists that Maguire and Jonny Evans have served their time at Old Trafford and should move on to allow fresh defensive prospects to shine.

Despite some notable achievements under Amorim, including a Europa League last-16 qualification and an FA Cup victory over Arsenal, United’s Premier League struggles continue.

With six losses in Amorim’s first 12 league games, the team sits 12th and risks falling further if they lose to Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Amorim’s rebuild strategy includes both signings like Patrick Dorgu and offloading underperformers.

While Evans is likely to exit when his contract expires this summer, Maguire’s future remains uncertain after United triggered a one-year extension.

Though often criticized, Maguire has been among the team’s better performers this season, earning Amorim’s trust.

However, Yorke believes the club must look ahead and invest in younger talent, particularly 19-year-old Leny Yoro.

Signed from Lille for £52 million, Yoro has shown glimpses of brilliance but struggled in recent games.

Yorke argues that keeping Maguire could stifle Yoro’s development and that Sir Alex Ferguson would have made a ruthless decision in this scenario.

United fans, Yorke suggests, would understand if Maguire were sold, as the club must prioritize long-term growth. Whether Amorim heeds this advice remains to be seen, but changes seem inevitable as United look to rebuild.
