Usain Bolt, a lifelong Manchester United fan, is optimistic about his team’s future after they earned a 2-2 draw against Liverpool at Anfield.
Despite being 23 points behind the Premier League leaders, the Red Devils showed a fighting spirit that impressed the legendary sprinter.
Manchester United took the lead through Lisandro Martinez, but Liverpool came from behind before Amad Diallo rescued a point, making it a morale-boosting performance after several disappointing outings.
Bolt, who has long supported the club, expressed his belief on social media that if Manchester United can maintain that level of fight, they could still win the Premier League this season. “If we can play with this fight every game @ManUtd will win the league,” Bolt posted on X.
The Jamaican sprinter’s optimism stems from his admiration for the club, which he became a fan of after watching Ruud van Nistelrooy in action.
Bolt’s support for Manchester United has never wavered, and he’s been vocal about his hopes for the team’s return to glory. In 2023, he even expressed his gratitude to then-manager Erik ten Hag, acknowledging the struggles of the team in recent years.
Although Bolt’s judgment about United’s progress hasn’t always been accurate, as shown by his conversation with ten Hag, his recent comments highlight the belief that the team’s mentality and fighting spirit can carry them forward.
United manager Ruben Amorim also recognized the importance of mentality after the Anfield draw, stressing that this level of fight should be the standard in every match, not just against rivals like Liverpool.
While United’s position in the table remains concerning, Bolt’s confidence and the team’s recent performance suggest that with continued effort, the Red Devils could still turn their season around.
