Victor Boniface has put the disappointment of his collapsed transfer to Al Nassr behind him, reaffirming his dedication to Bayer Leverkusen.
The Nigerian forward was close to sealing a move to the Saudi Arabian club before they opted to sign Aston Villa’s Colombian striker, Jhon Duran, instead.
Returning to training with Leverkusen on Thursday, Boniface expressed his commitment to the Bundesliga leaders. Speaking to SportsBoom, he acknowledged the nature of transfer speculations but emphasized that his current focus remains on his German club.
“Transfer rumors are part of football. It’s always flattering when top clubs show interest, but my priority right now is Bayer Leverkusen,” he said.
He also admitted that various considerations had influenced the situation but insisted he is happy at the club. “A lot of things have been analyzed, but I love playing here. My goal is to give my best and help the team succeed. The future will take care of itself.”
At 23, Boniface has been a key figure for Leverkusen this season, netting eight goals in 15 Bundesliga appearances as the club pushes for silverware.
