Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface sustained minor injuries after being involved in a car crash on Saturday. Earlier in the day, the Nigeria international scored the winning goal in Leverkusen’s 2-1 victory against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga.

    Incident Details

Later that evening, Boniface was taken to the hospital following a significant accident involving the Mercedes he was traveling in. Fortunately, Bayer Leverkusen confirmed that the 23-year-old is “fine” and only suffered minor injuries to his hand.

A source close to Boniface shared with German newspaper Bild that he is “doing well considering the circumstances and is only slightly injured.”

    Social Media Updates

Boniface took to Instagram to share images of the heavily damaged Mercedes, as well as a photo of his hand, which was covered in blood. He also posted a selfie from the hospital, captioned: “Thank you, Lord.”

On Sunday, he expressed his gratitude on social media, writing, “God is the greatest” and “God says my time hasn’t come.”

It’s reported that Boniface was not driving the Mercedes; he was on his way to Frankfurt airport to pick up friends at the time of the accident.

    Upcoming Match

Leverkusen is scheduled to play away against French side Brest in the Champions League this Wednesday, and Boniface’s availability for that match remains to be seen.
