Speaking to Marca, Gomez extolled the Nigerian international for his exceptional attributes, comparing his potential impact to that of Mauro Icardi, the team’s standout performer last season.

Osimhen, currently on loan from Serie A giants Napoli, has wasted no time in making his presence felt in the Turkish Super Lig.

In just nine appearances for the reigning champions, the striker has netted an impressive eight goals across all competitions, solidifying his reputation as a prolific finisher.

Gomez was effusive in his assessment of Osimhen’s qualities, highlighting his ability to dominate games and attract defensive attention.

“Last season, Icardi dominated the league not only with the number of goals he scored but also with the assists. This is what we want from Osimhen — to dominate the matches and the league like Icardi,” Gomez said.

He added that Osimhen’s unique combination of physical attributes and skill sets him apart from most players on the global stage.

“He attracts the attention of the entire opponent’s defence line. He can create positions on his own. It is really difficult to see a football player with his athletic capacity in the world. It is not easy to find a player who combines his height, speed, and coordination level.”

Osimhen’s explosive performances have already made him a vital asset for Galatasaray, as they aim to defend their Turkish Super Lig title and make a mark in European competitions.

His athleticism, coupled with his knack for scoring crucial goals, has drawn comparisons to some of the world’s top forwards.

After a stellar season with Napoli, where he played a pivotal role in their Scudetto-winning campaign, Osimhen has seamlessly transitioned to life in Turkey.

His performances not only underline his adaptability but also suggest that Galatasaray may have landed one of the best forwards in Europe for the season.

With Gomez and the Galatasaray coaching staff clearly invested in maximizing his potential, Osimhen seems poised for another season of excellence.

Whether through goals, assists, or sheer presence, the Nigerian striker is undoubtedly proving why he remains one of football’s hottest commodities.
