Sporting CP’s red-hot striker Viktor Gyokeres has revealed his ambition to play for one of Europe’s elite clubs, fueling speculation of a major summer transfer.

The Swedish forward has been in scintillating form this season, netting 26 goals in 24 games across all competitions.

This follows an impressive debut season in Lisbon, where Gyokeres bagged 29 goals and helped Sporting secure their 20th league title.

His performances have reportedly drawn interest from top European sides, including Manchester United, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain.

Sporting, however, are said to value the 26-year-old at £63 million, which could set the stage for a high-stakes transfer battle next summer.

Gyokeres, who recently won Sweden’s prestigious Guldbollen award, spoke about his future ambitions in an interview with Marca.

“I don’t play in the Premier League like others do, but I have done the best I can where I am. I’ve shown it in Europe, in the Champions League, and with the national team,” he said.

When asked about a potential transfer, Gyokeres remained coy: “We will see. There are many rumours circulating, but we are in the middle of the season and there are still many months left. When the time comes, we’ll see what happens.”

The striker also shared his long-term aspirations. “Playing for one of the best teams in Europe — that is the objective,” he stated, offering a glimpse of his ultimate career goals.

Gyokeres’ journey to stardom has been remarkable. Just 18 months ago, he was plying his trade in England’s Championship with Coventry City before securing a £16.5 million move to Sporting.

Reflecting on his career progression, he said: “It’s been difficult at times. I’ve played many seasons in the Championship, which is a tough league. But I always wanted to play in more important leagues.”

“For me, it doesn’t matter how long it takes. When I arrived at Sporting, I felt ready. I could’ve come here when I was 19 or 20, but I might not have performed at the same level as now.”

As Gyokeres continues to light up the Portuguese league and the Champions League, the speculation surrounding his next move only intensifies.

Wherever he lands, it’s clear that Europe’s elite clubs are taking notice of Sporting’s prized striker.
