Arsene Wenger has identified Liverpool as the “super favourites” to win the Premier League this season, cautioning that Arsenal must produce a flawless run-in while hoping for an unlikely collapse from Jurgen Klopp’s side.
The Gunners have been hit hard by injuries, with Kai Havertz sidelined for the remainder of the season, joining key attackers Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli on the injury list.

Despite these setbacks, Mikel Arteta’s men kept their title aspirations alive with a 2-0 victory over Leicester City, thanks to a late brace from Mikel Merino.
Liverpool, however, remain in control of the title race. Arsenal will have a chance to close the gap when they visit Anfield in May, but Wenger acknowledges that their fate is no longer in their own hands.
“It is simple, Liverpool need to lose games,” Wenger told beIN Sports. “But we are 25 games in, and they have lost just one.
They have to lose at least three in the next 13 games, and at the moment, that looks unlikely. Unless they collapse, they remain the super favourites.
“On top of that, Arsenal must be perfect. So I pray, but I have to improve the quality of my praying.”
Manchester City’s hopes of retaining their crown seem to be fading, despite a resounding 4-0 win over Newcastle at the weekend.
A top-four finish now appears to be a more realistic target for Pep Guardiola’s side, but new signing Omar Marmoush has emerged as a potential game-changer.
The Egyptian forward stole the show against Newcastle with a stunning hat-trick, earning praise from Wenger, who sees a fearless streak in the striker.
“Marmoush is mobile, powerful in his runs, and looks unafraid of anyone,” Wenger noted. “At Frankfurt, he showed special talent. He struggled in his first few games at City, but on Saturday, he looked comfortable. Now, I want to see how he fits alongside Erling Haaland.”
As the title race heats up, Arsenal and City will need more than just performances they’ll need Liverpool to stumble. But with Klopp’s men showing little sign of weakness, it could be a case of too little, too late.
