Fabianski clashed with Southampton defender Nathan Wood while attempting to punch away a corner in the first half at St Mary’s.

The collision left him requiring extensive medical attention before being taken off the field on a stretcher, with oxygen provided as a precaution.

Manager Julen Lopetegui shared positive news after the match, confirming that Fabianski remained at the stadium and did not need hospital treatment.

“He had a significant knock to his head and neck and was unsure about his actions initially,” said Lopetegui. “Fortunately, he’s alert, talking, and recovering well. I spoke to him, and the medical team is optimistic.”

West Ham secured a 1-0 win, thanks to Jarrod Bowen’s 59th-minute goal, despite injuries challenging their lineup. Bowen reflected on the situation, saying, “It was tough seeing Fabianski like that, but the medical staff did a great job. He’s in good spirits now, which is fantastic.”

Bowen also praised the team’s resilience. “We lost Max and Carlos as well, but everyone stepped up. The bench players are giving the manager tough decisions, and that’s what we need.

We’re in a strong position, and the fans deserve to leave happy. With two tough games ahead, we’re full of confidence and ready to keep building on this momentum.”

The victory, albeit tense, keeps West Ham in high spirits as they look to maintain their form in the coming fixtures.
