Former AC Milan boss Fabio Capello has expressed disappointment in Samuel Chukwueze’s underwhelming start at the Italian club.
Chukwueze, who joined the Rossoneri from Villarreal last summer, was expected to add flair and depth to Milan’s attack.
However, the Nigerian winger has struggled to make a significant impact, scoring six goals and providing four assists in 56 appearances across all competitions.
Capello, analyzing the situation, emphasized the need for Chukwueze to elevate his performance. “A tall, attacking winger who can make a difference was crucial for Milan,” he explained, as quoted by Milan.it.

He further noted Milan’s historical reliance on their left side for attacking plays and stressed the importance of having a similarly dynamic player on the right.
“Unfortunately, Chukwueze hasn’t fully clicked, and Milan lacks an alternative with similar qualities,” Capello added.
The Nigerian international still has time to turn things around, but Capello’s comments underline the high expectations at AC Milan and the urgent need for improvement in the winger’s performances.
