Wilfred Ndidi Boosts Flying Eagles with Cash Donation for WAFU B U20 Championship Semifinal

Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi has shown strong support for Nigeria’s U20 national team, the Flying Eagles, by donating N5 million ahead of their WAFU B U20 Championship semifinal clash with Niger Republic.

Scheduled for Saturday, the match serves as a crucial step for the team in securing a spot in the 2025 AFCON tournament.

The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) announced Ndidi’s contribution, joining other notable Nigerians rallying behind the Flying Eagles.

Deputy Senate President Senator Barau Jibrin added N2 million, while Crystal Sapphire Ltd Chairman Frank Peters presented N1.5 million and promised more if the team wins.

Support continued with Mr. Victor Apugo pledging N1 million and committing an extra N2 million if the team reaches the final.

Further backing came from Switzerland-based coach Adedeji Adeyemi Anthony, who delivered N1 million after the team’s victory over Côte d’Ivoire.

Mavlon FC’s Chairman Barrister Kenneth Agadugba contributed N2 million, pledging an additional N12 million if the Flying Eagles advance to the final.

Nigeria’s defending champions overcame Côte d’Ivoire 2-1 in a comeback to reach the semifinals as Group B winners.

Their match against Niger Republic, set for 2 pm Nigeria time on Saturday, will determine their place in the AFCON U20 finals and the WAFU B U20 Championship final.
