Leicester City manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has confirmed that Wilfred Ndidi is set to return to full training next week as he continues his recovery.

Ndidi has been sidelined since December 28, when he was substituted in the 58th minute of Leicester’s 2-2 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion. The Nigerian midfielder has yet to make a competitive appearance since then.

Currently, Ndidi is participating in partial team training with his Leicester teammates. However, van Nistelrooy is optimistic that he will increase his involvement in the coming weeks.

“Wilf is making good progress,” the Dutchman told the club’s official website. “He’s been taking part in some team training sessions, and we’re aiming to have him back in full training this week and next.”

Ndidi has been a key player for Leicester this season, contributing four assists in 15 league appearances.

His return will be a boost for the Foxes as they prepare for their upcoming clash against Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday.
