At 36, former Chelsea and Arsenal winger Willian is eyeing a return to the Premier League.

After departing Olympiacos just five months into his stint, the Brazilian’s representatives have approached Everton, offering the experienced winger as a potential solution to their offensive struggles.

Everton’s search for attacking reinforcements in the January transfer window has led to discussions with Willian’s team.

The Toffees are evaluating the feasibility of signing the veteran winger, who showcased his capabilities in the Premier League as recently as last season with Fulham.

Willian boasts an impressive résumé, having made over 300 appearances for Chelsea, where he won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, and the Europa League.

However, his subsequent stints at Arsenal and Olympiacos were far less successful. During his time at the Emirates, Willian admitted to being deeply unhappy, leading to a premature departure despite the lucrative contract he held.

The Brazilian’s struggles in Greece were similarly disappointing, but his recent performances for Fulham remind clubs of his quality.

For Everton, currently grappling with a dire lack of goals—just 15 in 20 games this season—Willian’s experience and attacking flair could prove invaluable.

Newly reinstated manager David Moyes faces the daunting task of steering Everton away from relegation danger. Following a narrow 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa in his first game back, Moyes emphasized the club’s pressing need to address their offensive shortcomings.

With Everton sitting precariously in 16th place, just one point above the drop zone, the urgency for reinforcements is palpable.

Willian’s potential return aligns with Moyes’ objectives, but the manager will need to weigh the risks of bringing in a 36-year-old against the immediate need for quality in the final third.

Everton’s next challenge comes against a struggling Tottenham side, offering Moyes a chance to secure his first points since returning to Goodison Park.
