Bayer Leverkusen will be without star striker Victor Boniface for their final game of 2024 against Freiburg at the BayArena on Saturday.
Manager Xabi Alonso confirmed Boniface’s absence during a media briefing, citing the Nigerian forward’s incomplete recovery from an injury sustained on international duty last month.
Despite resuming full team training earlier this week, the 23-year-old is not fit enough to feature.
“Victor Boniface, Amine Adil, and Jonas Hoffmann are unavailable for the game due to injuries,” Alonso stated.
Boniface has been a key player for Leverkusen this season, netting eight goals in 15 matches across all competitions.
While he will sit out this clash, fellow Nigerian Nathan Tella remains available for selection.
Leverkusen, the reigning Bundesliga champions, are looking to end the year on a high note as they host Freiburg in this pivotal encounter.
