Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has called for full focus and intensity from his players ahead of their tricky away test against Real Sociedad, underlining the importance of consistency as the Catalans continue their push for the LaLiga title. Flick was speaking to the press in comments shared via Barcelona’s official X handle on the eve of the encounter at Anoeta, Softfootball reports.

Barcelona head into the clash on the back of an impressive run of performances that has lifted morale within the camp. The Blaugrana recently claimed the Super Cup title with a thrilling 3-2 victory over arch-rivals Real Madrid, a result that not only delivered silverware but also solidify the belief in Flick’s stunning project.

They followed that up with a controlled 2-0 win over Racing Santander in the Copa del Rey earlier this midweek, showing their growing confidence ad mometum over the past few weeks.

The German tactician admitted the challenge that awaits his side, pointing to Real Sociedad’s recent upturn in form and the traditionally demanding atmosphere in San Sebastián. Flick said:

“It will be a difficult match. Real Sociedad are confident after their recent results. We want to win the league, and therefore we have to win at Anoeta.

Flick also took time to emphasise the value of squad depth, insisting that Barcelona’s recent success has been built on collective effort rather than reliance on a fixed starting XI. According to the former Bayern Munich boss, every player has a role to play, whether from the first whistle or off the bench, he explained:

In every position on the pitch we have players who start games and others who finish them. Everyone is important, and everyone helps us win matches.

The Barcelona manager also provided a fitness update on Raphinha, revealing that the winger remains a doubt after sustaining a knock in training. Flick confirmed that a precautionary decision was taken to limit his involvement as the medical staff continue to monitor the situation. Flick confirmed:

We decided that Raphinha would not train after a kick he received. We don’t know if he’ll be available against Real Sociedad.

With momentum on their side, Flick will be hoping his players can translate that form into another strong league showing, knowing that difficult away fixtures like Anoeta often prove decisive in a title race. As Barcelona continue to balance domestic and cup ambitions, the focus remains on maintaining intensity, managing fitness wisely, and ensuring every member of the squad is ready to contribute when called upon.
